Screen printing is a totally different monster than any other type of printing you may be educated on so if you’re in the dark when it comes to supplying artwork, that’s okay. That’s why we’re here! Let’s take a look at the broad strokes of supplying artwork for the purpose of screen printing.
Art Guidelines – Let’s start with a general overview; a list of things to remember as golden rules, if you will.
- Always supply your artwork at its final print size and if it’s rastered, at 300dpi.
- If vectored, convert all of your fonts to outlines. It’s a 2 second process that effectively gets rid of another possiblitiy of your art not coming out how you had originally designed it.
- If your art was created with Photoshop, supply the file with all of the layers still intact. Do not flatten your PSD files!
- Please be specific as to where you would like each imprint to go on the garment as well as indicating the color of your garments. Artwork should be supplied on a background at least somewhat close to what it is going to print on.
- Although all artwork should be supplied at final print size, please indicate final print sizes in your final files.
- Please save all files as AI or PSD in CS3 format.
Easy, huh? If you follow these simple rules, we’ll take care of the rest.
